Fish

There are fish at the bottom of my blog.  They follow your mouse around and you can play with them.  It is awesome.

Palmer West passed the test to be the best

I realize that the poetic flow of my title my seem like I am overly confident in the school I attend.  That was exactly what I was going for....

Palmer West has provided me with a learning experience that I do not think any other school could.  The main reason for this is the size of our campus population.  We are about 300 students which allows for a more personal level of education.  My class size alone started at 8 students and we have grown by 2 since first quarter.  Because of this, our technique labs are phenomenal.  We all receive a great amount of attention by our professors which allows us to excel.  For lecture, our class feels more like a study session, giving us the ability to ask any questions at any time.  Our relationships with our professors develops deeply and I have been impressed with all of the instructors we have had so far.  They really want us to do well and are more than qualified to present the material.  Our passion to educate and learn collides during class time and really brings harmony in the learning process.

We have a class here in 3rd quarter called Evidence Based Chiropractic, abbreviated EBC.  It is taught to us by the president of the school, Dr. Meeker, who has provided a great deal of research for chiropractic.  This class alone makes me feel as though I chose the right school and the right campus to attend.  We learn how to evaluate studies concerning chiropractic and whether the data presented is plausible or not.  This is an important aspect to the profession of chiropractic, as it allows us as professionals to stay current while enabling us to decide whether we should apply new findings to specific patients.  This is important for all chiropractic students to learn, because as health care providers we need to progress together and give our patients the best care we can.  A student should not expect to walk out of their school, diploma in hand, thinking they are finished learning.  Our profession encompasses education.  If we can't treat and educate with what is current, then we compromise our patients and our abilities.  This class shows students what it means to be a chiropractor, and a good one at that.
